Based once again solely on lot number sequence, Type I oval hallmark, small font serial numbers with straight stem nines in 999.5 fineness follow next.  These could be a carry over of the Lot 7 Type I oval hallmark, medium font serial number in 999.5 fineness but as we can see in previous series, a change in font size is accompanied by a new numerical sequence. On all of this series that I have seen, the weight is stamped on the reverse and the OZS appears in smaller size letters similar to the pair pictured above.

I have seen very few of the Type I oval hallmark, small font serial numbers with straight stem nines in 999.5 fineness , and the only sequential pair I know of, (pictured above), is in The United States Government Silver Ingot Collection of Ken Conaway.

There are two Type I oval hallmark, small font serial numbers with straight stem nines in 999.5 fineness from Lot 8 and then this is the last we see lot numbers on Mint Of The United States At San Francisco 5 oz class silver ingots until the 1959 round dated hallmark series.  One of only two known examples as listed in the Registry, is in The United States Government Silver Ingot Collection of Ken Conaway and pictured below.
